For more than three decades, we’ve been providing educational experiences for students on our family farm. Field trips to Akron Acres are beloved by both children and teachers alike! Our interactive guided tours are tailored to the age level of the students and offer fascinating insights into farm life.
During the tour, students will discover a variety of farm animals, including pigs, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and horses. We encourage hands-on learning, allowing all students to interact with our animals. They’ll also enjoy pony rides and hayrides through our crop fields.
In the spring season, our tours focus on the newborns of the barn and the growing crops in the fields. Students will have the chance to see lambs, baby goats, calves, and chicks, with newborn chicks hatching daily in the incubator. They’ll also observe tadpoles developing in our pond area.
Tours include the following:
- Educational barn tour, poultry barn tour, pony ride and hayride
- Indoor and heated picnic facilities available to eat lunch
- Clean, flush toilet restrooms and running water for handwashing
- Spring tours are $13.00 per person
- They are available Monday to Friday, late April to mid-June
All farm tours and visits are by reservation only. See our calendar for available dates.
