Is my date available?

Please feel free to check our online calendar, we do our best to keep it up-to date so you can easily see if any open dates might be possible for your event.  

Do you offer weddings year-round?

Our wedding season runs from the beginning of May until the end of October.  Please note we only do one weeding per weekend.  We offer Fridays or Saturdays May through September and October weddings are offered on Fridays only. Sorry, no Sunday weddings.

What is the maximum capacity of The Gathering Barn?

Our maximum for weddings is 240 people.

What is included in the rental?

The Gathering Barn rental includes tables and chairs (set up for your event), outdoor grain bin bar, prep kitchen access, indoor restrooms (and restroom upkeep), covered patio area with barrel cocktail tables, hickory rockers, parking lot with separate handicap parking and drop-off loop, beautiful photo areas around the property and access to the barn on the day of the event from 10 AM until 11 PM.  All personal wedding items must be taken the night of the event.

Do you offer planning or coordination services?  Will a staff member oversee the event?

While we do not offer wedding planning or day-of coordinating services, we do have our staff at every event to fulfill our responsibilities as a venue. Our staff will maintain restrooms, adjust lighting and fan levels and clean up any accidental spills.  We recommend your vendors work together to ensure your day of timeline is followed.

Do you have heat or air conditioning in The Gathering Barn?

The Gathering Barn is equipped with a large fan to circulate air and is heavily insulated in order to keep the cold air out in the fall time and hot air out in the summer time.  We want to have The Gathering Barn be as open to the outdoors as possible, therefore air conditioning is not a good economical or environmental match for our venue.  In the case of chilly evenings the barn is heated to keep your guests comfortable! The restrooms in the Gathering Barn are air conditioned. 

Can we have our wedding ceremony on-site? What is included with the ceremony fee?

We offer multiple ceremony set-up options and have a portable arbor you may choose to use.  For on-site ceremonies the additional fee includes set-up and take-down of ceremony site and chairs and a designated rehearsal time. An Akron Acres staff member will be present at your rehearsal and ceremony to help coordinate flow of the ceremony.

Do you have a bridal suite?

We do offer our bridal cottage as an optional add-on!  The bridal cottage is a separate building located just beyond the patio of the barn featuring mirrored countertops, private powder room, heat and air conditioning, dry bar, secure locking door, and lots of gorgeous natural light!  The perfect place to relax and be pampered, with the additional rental fee you may have access to the cottage starting at 8 AM on wedding day.

How does catering work?  Do you serve food and drinks?

We do not provide catering or bar services for the events held at Akron Acres.  We have a list of caterers and bartenders for you to choose from.  Our on-site kitchen is a prep kitchen; offering conveniences for the caterer to use.
