For more than three decades, we’ve been providing educational experiences for students on our family farm. Field trips to Akron Acres are beloved by both children and teachers alike! Our interactive guided tours are tailored to the age level of the students and offer fascinating insights into farm life.
During the tour, students will discover a variety of farm animals, including pigs, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, and horses. We encourage hands-on learning, allowing all students to interact with our animals. They’ll also enjoy pony rides and hayrides through our crop fields.
During fall tours, we shift our focus to winter preparations on the farm. Students will learn how animals adapt and prepare for the colder months and how crops are harvested and stored to sustain them throughout winter.
Our tours include:
- Educational barn and poultry barn tours
- Pony rides and hayrides
- Indoor, heated picnic facilities for lunch breaks
- Clean, flush toilet restrooms and running water for hand washing
- Fall tours are $14.00 per person and includes a pumpkin from the patch
- Tours are available Tuesdays to Thursdays from the end of September through October
